From the Principal

Dear Hope Wildcat Families,

Welcome to the 22-23 school year! I am ecstatic to start the school year! I LOVE catching up with our returning students and meeting our new students and families. Our Hope School staff is committed to providing the highest levels of learning for academic and personal growth for ALL our students. In addition, we create a positive culture and growth mindset. We believe mistakes are an opportunity to learn and grow. Successes are celebrated in a variety of ways. Our school colors are green and white and our mascot is a Wildcat; therefore we focus on PAWS-itivity through Problem solving, Acting safely, Wise choices and Sharing our Heart!

Please give a warm welcome to a few New Wildcats:

  • Adam Noble, 4-6 Multi-Age Teacher

  • Kere Delahanty, 4-6 Multi-Age Teacher

  • Leslie Kiebert, Paraprofessional with 1-3 Multi-Age team

For the safety of all our Students and Staff we have increased safety measures.

  • All exterior doors will remain locked at all times.

  • Parents/guardians/visitors will ring the bell on the front doors for entry (be prepared to show I.D. if asked).

  • Interior classroom doors will be locked, but propped open for student access with a mechanism to allow doors to quickly be shut and locked down.

  • Every staff member will be required to wear a badge at all times.

  • Scheduled visitors/volunteers will be required to sign in with I.D. A new security system will be put into place later this year for scanning I.D. cards.

  • Hope School and all our district’s schools will use the See Tell Now alert system for anyone to report any kind of anonymous tip regarding safety, harassment, bullying, etc. This can be accessed at: https://seetellnow.org/ or by calling 888-593-2835

School Meal Program Update

The past two years our meals program was free to all. For the upcoming school year, our school district will no longer be providing free meals to ALL students. Breakfast will be $2.00 and lunch will be $3.25. It is very important for our families to fill out a free/reduced meal form either online or on paper during Open House, August 31, 5pm to 6:30pm. This program could possibly help offset your cost for eating meals at school, and also help provide funding to our school for important programs such as reading and math support.

Please follow our Facebook page at Hope Wildcats, visit our webpage hp.lposd.org and read our Friday Bulletins for details and updates about our school.

With much gratitude,

Sherri Hatley, Principal
